Charting Her Own Path: Char Escobar’s Rise In The Cannabis Industry

Char Escobar is a 24 year-old immigrant who left the Philippines in 2008 and moved to New York City before settling down in California in February 2020. She is a music lover and songwriter, but when she arrived in California she found herself drawn to the cannabis industry.

Char started her cannabis career working with Calma as a budtender in West Hollywood. After just three months at the job, she was promoted to Lead Budtender. Sweet Flower also recognized Char’s talent and hired her as a budtender,

quickly promoting Char to a management role at their Melrose location. Now, she has bigger ambitions and is the General Manager of Rebud’s New Westwood Location in Los Angeles.

Char hopes to cultivate an attractive work culture for the best budtenders in Southern California by 2023. She attributes her success to her ability to network and build relationships.

Char’s Immigrant Story Is Inspiring

Growing up in the Philippines, she was exposed to a culture that looked down on cannabis use, as it’s an outlaw drug there with many people being killed or incarcerated unfairly for any cannabis related situation. Despite this, Char has risen to the top of the cannabis industry in just a few short years, proving that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible.

Conclusion

It’s clear that Char Escobar has big plans for the future of cannabis and we look forward to seeing where her journey takes her. Her immigrant story proves that it’s never too late to start and that anyone can reach the top with hard work, dedication and networking.

We’d like to thank Char for taking the time to chat with us about her immigrant story and journey in the cannabis industry. We wish her all the best in achieving her long-term goals!
